Council Scorer uses publicly available government performance data to help Australians make informed decisions about where to live. We're committed to accuracy, fairness and transparency.

Every council is scored across four dimensions — Sustainability, Community Services, Lifestyle & Amenity and Core Operations — using data published by state government reporting frameworks. Scores average indicator percentiles calculated within peer groups (metro, regional, rural), so your council is compared to similar councils, not all councils. A score is not the percentage of councils beaten.

With a Verified Council Profile, council officers can add an official statement, provide context on priorities and investments, and link to their own reporting. Data corrections are reviewed against the original statutory source and applied publicly.
